Andover Women Celebrated

Wednesday night's celebration of local women sponsored by Andover Commission for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion was an inspiring look at some dedicated women and what they are doing to make Andover a stronger community. The Oak & Iron was packed to hear local women share their stories and their causes. Our executive director, Denise Johnson, talked about her involvement with ACT and the important work that ACT is undertaking.

“I was proud to tell my story and how I came to Andover Community Trust to be a champion for building affordable homes and welcoming families of color to be our neighbors,” shared Denise.

Other women who shared their stories and experiences included: Martha Tubinis, Andover Center for History and Culture; Roseann Hewitt, Elm Square Oyster Bar; Laurie-Marie Small, Kidcasso Art; Solange Silva, Cup 89; Melissa Marrama, Neighborhood Confetti; Sophia Alexander, Dovetail Apothecary; Nancy Kannell, Project Home Again; Shelia Doherty, Doherty Insurance; Linda Conners-McCarthy, Elise’ Pantry; and JoAnn Kalogianis Spaneas, Land & Sea Real Estate.

As the celebration reminded us all, now it's time for all of us to Get Involved, Join a group, Shop locally and Support One Another!

If you want to get more involved with Andover DIVERSE you can email Albert Pless, Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the town at albert.pless@andoverma.us or check out Andover DIVERSE on the town website.
