A Housing Production Plan (HPP) is a community's proactive strategy for planning and developing affordable housing. Andover’s most recent HPP covers 2018-2022. The plan includes strategy as well as demographic profile including population and household trends, environmental justice, local housing conditions including rental and ownership trends and occupancies, housing development considerations and housing goals and strategies. This is a good place to start to learn about housing in Andover.

The Color of Law lays out the history of de jure segregation, with extensive footnotes, along with the resulting outcomes on an individual basis and for our country as a whole. We each must learn this history if we are going to successfully remedy the unconstitutional segregation we have allowed.

Since The Color of Law was published Rothstein has had numerous appearances to talk through the our nation’s history of racial segregation. His November 2020 webinar hosted by the Newton (MA) Free Library and Families Organizing for Racial Justice is a great option to hear the author share the the facts and history he writes about.

What is a CLT
Community Land Trusts, or CLTs, are nonprofit organizations that acquire, own and steward land for the common good. Grounded Solutions Network works nationally with CLTs, connecting local experts with the networks, knowledge, and support to promote housing solutions that will stay affordable for generations.
